Fish hatchery

We are always trying to find new things to do around here so we decided to head up to the fish hatchery a few Saturdays back. It ended up being a bit colder than we where expecting but the boys still enjoyed seeing all the sturgeon, trout, and feeding the ducks. LOVE THIS KID! Just look at all that hair, we recently cut it and I have to say I miss his blond locks a little.
Who cares about the fish, WATER! Miles loves to play in water anytime, anywhere!
BFF!
There where some pretty serious sturgeon in there. This one much have been around 10 feet long!
Becks = easily excited.
Nothing better than exploring new things with my boys. What a great day it was!

Odyessy

After much debate we decided it was time to invest in a second vehicle. It is nothing fancy and of course we had next to nothing to spend but we ended up with a Honda Odyessy, and I love it! If I was buying from a dealer gold would basically be my last choice but this van is in such good shape and so perfect for our family that we have decided to forgive Goldie locks (our van) for this minor imperfection. Can't wait to test this baby out on the highway, it should make our trips back to Canada a lot more comfortable, call me if you wanna go for a spin ;) ha ha ha!
Oh and I tried this awesome new recipe for s'more cookies today, delicious!
Here is the recipie for these cookies. SERIOUSLY SO GOOD!
Giant S’mores Cookies
makes 18 large cookies in the muffin top pan

Ingredients
2 sticks softened butter
1 Cup packed light brown sugar
3/4 Cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 Tablespoon pure vanilla
4 Cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 Cups chocolate chips
3 regular size Hershey’s Chocolate Bars
3 Full Graham Crackers
5-6 Large Marshmallows cut into fourths

Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Place butter and sugars into a stand or electric mixer; beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla until well combined.
2. Place flour, salt and baking soda into a large bowl; mix then slowly add to wet ingredients along with the chocolate chips. Mix until just combined.
3. Scoop a heaping 1/4 Cup of cookie dough into muffin top pan cups. Press down then gently press chocolate bar squares, graham cracker pieces and marshmallow slices on top of cookie dough.
4. Bake for 11-13 minutes or until edges are just turning brown. Let cool for 5 minutes before removing from pan. Serve with milk and enjoy

Note: This recipe can be prepared without the muffin top pan. Just flatten out your cookie dough slightly onto a parchment or silpat lined baking sheet and press your s’mores toppings over the dough.

I did mine on the silpat and they worked out perfect, Enjoy everyone!

Oneonta Falls

I have missed creek hiking up Red Rock canyon in Waterton the past few summers, it is actually my most favorite thing to do in Waterton. So you can imagine how excited I was when Holly and Dan introduced us to Oneonta falls, Beautiful!(Thanks Lujans!)
This creek hike is only about 3/4 of a mile to the falls and pretty flat but it is no walk in the park. About 10 minutes in you run into this.....THE LOG JAM!

That's right, there is this huge stack of logs that you gotta go up and over and we did it with ALL the boys. You will notice Dustin has Becks on his back, Aaron has Miles, Lynz with Max in the Sling, and Me and the Lujans helping AJ, who hiked it! I was so proud of him.

After that it's a beautiful hike up the canyon, over and under logs, watching the fish, and getting waist deep in some seriously chilly water!

Finally we make it to the falls and after hikin all that way we thought...better get in!It was freezing cold but lots of fun.

Not everyone went in the water, it was too deep and cold for the kids, but they found ways to entertain themselves.

We had a great afternoon cooling off with our friends at Oneonta falls, thanks guys!
