1 Mile down

I know that everyone says this about their little ones but seriously, I CAN'T BELEIVE MILES IS ONE YEAR OLD! If I thought the first year with AJ was fast I don't even know what to say about Miles. It feels like I just had him a few months ago and next thing I know I'm making his birthday cake.Miles has been such a wonderful addition to our family, looking back things where just to dang quiet around here before he arrived. With Aaron going into finals week we decided to have Dr.Drake brake my water 8 days early as I was already 3cm and ready to go. A little less than two hours after my water broke little Miles arrived in all his perfection.

Miles had a bit of a first ruff year as far as health goes, nothing major just a lot of yeast, snot, and broncelitis.
He and Becks made the most of thier sick days, enjoyning bottle and barney together.

Miles has turned out to be quiet the little character. He is determined, smart, funny (he loves to make his brother laugh!), curious, and definatly has an adventures spirit. When it comes to climbing, exploring, jumping off thingsd, and getting dirty Miels has no fear, in fact he will do anything he can to get at the sand and dirt. Everyone always said that it is so diffrent to raise little boys over girls and I deffinatly have my hads full with this little man, he made it clear early on he has a problem with authority. So here he is our little man also know as TROUBLE!

It doesn't take long to fall in love with our little Miles, one look at that face and your DONE! I can't even tell you how many people spend 10 minutes with Him and say, "Oh my gosh , I love this Kid!" Happy Birthday Miles, I lvoe you more than words can say, you're my little minny me!

Coastal living

Another great trip to the coast thanks to Grandma and Grandpa Poytress. It's always nice to have them visit especially when they decide to make it a vacation for the whole family and take us to the coast. Coastal living is not cheap so we can't really afford to head out there to often. We had a great time playing on the beach, watching movies, and hanging out as a family. We did a little shopping at the outlet malls and really lucked out with some B-E-A-UTIFUL weather on Saturday. Portland may have been rainy but it was clear sunny Sky's in Lincoln city
. Grandpa found this long piece of kelp or whatever and instantly turned into Indiana Jones. Pretty impressive if you ask me!

I was playing around with my camera a bit, I guess I have been out of the photography loop for a bit but being out on the coast inspired me to get going again. Now I need to get Steve to reteach me everything he taught me last year, HA HA HA! Anyways they aren't great but I like some of these shots, enjoy.

I love the little moment they are having here. They were looking for whales and AJ was asking a never ending string of questions that his Father was happily answering. It was so much fun to get away, I only wish that it could have lasted longer! Thanks for a great trip Grandpa and Grandma, to bad I didn't get in a single picture to prove I was actually there!

Flash Back to Mothers Day.

This year we had a beautiful Mothers day and I wanted to make the most of the nice weather. We went across the street to take some pictures of me and the boys. Here's a few of my favorites from the day. They're not fancey or super cute or anything but it just means so much to me that I have these pictures to remeber my life at this stage.

Rhododendron Gardens

The last two months have been record setting for the amount of rain fall in Portland, not a record we have enjoyed setting. After a week of beautiful sunshine, the clouds rolled in and decided to stay, HO HUM! We can only stay indoors for so long and finally decided to make a trip to the Rhododendron gardens. It was over cast and raining on and off but we had a good time and were able to enjoy the fresh air.

There are so many beautiful Rhododendrons and other plants, the place is picture perfect and the pictures are only improved by my cute little boys.
Not only is this garden home to some beautiful plants but is also home to hundreds of ducks, geese, and other little birds. Here's Lynz and Becks trying to get a closer look at one of the duckies before he flew away.I love this picture of the boys checking out the floating
ducks from the bridge. They could have stayed there all day, if the rain didn't start pouring down!
A little later on we came across this big old Goose, and boy was he mean. I was so freaked out I backed into the bushes with Age and started snapping pictures while Lynz tried to fend of the hissing goose, push the stroller, and hold Beckams hand. LOL! I am such a wuss, but seriously look how big he is compared to the Canadian geese next to him!
I LOVE THESE BOYS!!! They make my life so much better, even the tough days are so worth it when I think of what my life would be like without them, LOVE!!!!!!!Lynz and Becks, I am not sure how she feels about this picture but I think she looks BEAUTIFUL and I love that you can practically hear him laughing when you look at his cute little face.I have to say the highlight of the trip was these cute little duckies, they are so fun to watch swimming and playing in the water. Too cute!

I smell TROUBLE!

Miles is growing so fast, I can't believe he is almost one! The bigger he gets the more I see of his little personality, something I fear he got from me. My Mom always told me that not all children are as calm and relaxed as AJ but I never understood just how different two brothers could be. If I had to sum Miles up in one word it would have to be determined, once he has something in his mind there is NO STOPPING HIM! We can't even let him see a bottle until it's time for his or he will freak out and cry at in the kitchen until we get him his.

He lovers computers and exploring the kitchen even thought these are not approved playing areas. I am starting to teach him no and even slapping his hands. I know that may sound extrema but what other way can I teach him that THIS is not appropriate. As soon as I am in the bathroom (I just put potty and had to go correct it, ha ha ha!) he heads to the oven and gets right in. I have no way to secure it shut and now he has found the knobs!
