When Miles was one we put him on the bottom bunk since I was sick of having the crib up in the room AND having a bunk bed in there. He did really well and enjoyed all the room he now had but He was still unable to get out with the borders we had put up. Well after Christmas we decided it was time to lose the borders and teach him to sleep on his own. Well this is what we found.....
Every night we would put him to bed and he would get up and play for 30- 90 minutes and eventually pass out somewhere in the room. But with time he got taller and we had to get a child proof handle on the door so he couldn't keep coming out. It worked out great the first night, however by night two...
So after 2 months of sleeping on the floor, dumping out all the toy bins at 1AM, and crawling into bed with Mom & Dad at 3AM, we moved him to .... the top bunk! There was just no other good option. He fell out once, no major injuries, and has been close to an angel ever since. Sure he plays with Woody and Rex for a while and screams every now and then but he stays in bed and falls asleep. Good work team!
The best part is that AJ was completly unaware of what was going on. He can sleep through anything, including his crazy brother!

Love all the sleeping pics! What a sneaky little guy, getting that child-proof thing off the door, I can't even get those off! ha.
AJ and Megan can start a support group for children with younger siblings that act crazy at night.
